About FDC
Ferrell-Duncan Clinic is approximately 100 physicians strong, working in 20 specialties and subspecialties. FDC was founded as a general surgery practice in 1945 by Drs. Thomas Ferrell and Robert Duncan, with the express purpose of providing southwest Missouri residents with the absolute best in medical care. As our practice has grown over the decades we've remained true to that purpose, in part, by being highly selective in recruiting new physicians to join us. In the 1950s, a third and fourth doctor were added to the practice. In the '60s we began to branch out with the hiring of our first internist. Soon after that, we added our first subspecialty, rheumatology. Additional subspecialties followed, including cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology and pulmonology, and as the practice continued to grow, so did our facilities. Today, that facility has nearly tripled in size. The original three-story building has shot up to a five-story facility encompassing 180,000 square feet, with comprehensive on-site ancillary services, administrative offices and a pharmacy. Our staff of physicians has grown to approximately 100, practicing in 20 specialties. Our physicians are seamlessly supported by a professional managerial staff which attends to the business side of the practice so our physicians, supported by a staff of 120 nurses, can concentrate on medicine. FDC is JCAHO accredited, a testimony to our commitment to providing physicians with the best resources and to the quality of care we deliver to our more than 210,000 patients. Ferrell-Duncan Clinic Inc. physicians are in a partnership with CoxHealth, the region's largest locally owned health system. Through that partnership, FDCI physicians have access to state-of-the-art hospital facilities, as well as an extended referral base of hundreds more physicians.
