Ferrell-Duncan Clinic offers nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and vascular ultrasound, plus innovative programs for heart failure and cardiopulmonary rehab.

No area of medicine has progressed more dramatically in recent decades than in the treatment of heart disease. The cardiologists and heart surgeons at FDC are leading in emergency care, innovative procedures and patient recovery.

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Cardiac and thoracic surgeons specialize in diagnosing and surgically treating disorders of the heart, lung and chest. Our cardiothoracic surgeons perform hundreds of operations each year using state-of-the-art technology, including minimally invasive techniques and "off bypass"  machine heart procedures.

Our board certified electrophysiologist and physicians are experienced in the evalutation if cardiac arrhythmias and the insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators. They provide convenient expert follow-up care for these devices.

Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiologists specialize in the use of catheters, which are thin, flexible tubes, to diagnose and treat a wide variety of cardiovascular concerns. Our interventional cardiologists, also known as interventionlists, use catheters to:

  • Treat narrowed arteries of the heart, neck, head, kidney, legs and feet with angioplasty and stenting
  • Perform structural heart interventions, which treat problems with heart valves, muscle walls and other abnormalities

Our interventionalists insert the catheters into your blood vessels (this process is called catheterization) through tiny incisions, which provide an alternative to the large incisions of open surgery. Your likelihood of infection and complication as well as the amount of pain and length of your hospital stay are greatly reduced with these minimally invasive procedures as compared to open surgery.

Non-Invasive Cardiology

Non-invasive cardiologists provide expertise in the detection and treatment of heart disease. Non-invasive cardiology involves tests to evaluate and diagnose disorders of the heart. A person with a history of heart disease, chest pain with unknown cause or valvular heart disease may be referred for non-invasive evaluation, including:

Non-Interventional Cardiology

Invasive, non-interventional cardiologists perform all the duties of a non-invasive cardiologist; however, they are also trained to perform cardiac catheterizations. This procedure looks for blockages.
